i've been working at the "new" fontana track for 8.5 years when it started on the other side as just street legal and now moved to the other side of the facilty and has some of the best racing in california
cool pics and thanks for sharing them

I made many a run there with a F1/FHR 55 Chevy. Those were the days.

My dad used to take me there along with my a few of my uncles. They would back their trucks up against the fence and watch the races from there. They would bet quarters and toss them back and forth into the beds of the trucks. Of course being the youngest, I was the "gofer" that would have to find the quarters for them in the dark. They would often do some crazy stuff there like allow an eleven second '57 chevy a few seconds head start, then send a TF/FED after it to see if it could catch it. Safe? No. Fun to watch? You bet.

That pic of the rail burning the tires and lifting the front wheel with the tower in the background would make a great T-shirt.

It was located where the western most part of the Heritage housing development is, northeast of East Ave & Foothill Blvd where the power line towers run through now. Part of the asphalt from the top end is still there.
